Real Time AI Interview Assistant
A real time AI interview assistant that listens, transcribes, spots each question, and shows an answer in seconds. How it works, speed tips, and what to test.
Short answer: A real time AI interview assistant hears the interviewer, turns their words into text as they speak, notices when the question ends, and shows you a short answer in seconds. InterviewStorm does all of this on Windows, macOS, and in desktop Chrome. You can try it free for 20 minutes with no card.
How a real time AI interview assistant works
Every answer goes through the same four steps, one after another:
- Listen. You pick the audio source your call uses, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. InterviewStorm hears the interviewer through it.
- Transcribe. The interviewer’s words appear as text while they talk, in many languages, including English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic. If the audio cuts out, you can still read the question. How live transcription works.
- Detect the question. When the interviewer stops talking, InterviewStorm takes the question and starts working. You do not press any button.
- Answer. An AI model from OpenAI or Anthropic writes a short answer using your resume, the job post, and your custom instructions. It shows on your screen in seconds.
Then you read the answer and say it in your own words. For coding problems there is one more input: you take a screenshot, and the answer includes the approach, the code, edge cases, and complexity. Coding help.
Where the seconds go
Three things decide how fast an answer appears:
- Your internet connection. Audio goes up and the answer comes back. A slow or unstable connection adds delay to every step.
- Your computer. If your video call, browser tabs, and other apps all compete for the processor, everything slows down.
- Answer length. A long answer takes longer to write and longer for you to read. Short answers are faster on both sides.
How to make it faster
- Use wired internet. An Ethernet cable is more stable than Wi-Fi. If you must use Wi-Fi, sit close to the router and stop big downloads.
- Use the desktop app. The Windows and macOS apps give the smoothest experience, and they include Screen Share Privacy, which keeps your suggestions on your own display, not in the screen you share. Download.
- Close heavy apps. Quit games, video editors, cloud sync, and extra browser tabs before the call.
- Pick the right audio source. If InterviewStorm listens to the wrong device, it waits for words that never come.
- Ask for short answers. Add a custom instruction such as “Answer in 3 to 5 sentences”. You get the answer faster and read it faster.
- Set the right language. Set the interview language to the language the interviewer speaks. You can set the answer language separately.
What to test before a real interview
Use the free 20-minute trial in a practice call with a friend, and check each item:
- Audio: the transcript shows the interviewer’s words, not only yours.
- Accuracy: names, tools, and technical terms come out right. Try a few with an accent you expect.
- Speed: time how long an answer takes on your normal setup.
- Screen share: share your whole screen with Screen Share Privacy on, and ask your friend what they see.
- Coding: take a screenshot of a practice problem and check the code and complexity.
- Reading: practice hovering to read an answer while you keep eye contact with the camera.

Real time for the whole interview
Some tools cut sessions short or make you wait between them. For example, CoPilot Interview’s $14.99 plan stops sessions at 60 minutes, then makes you wait 2 hours. InterviewStorm vs CoPilot Interview.
