Learn how InterviewStorm finds questions in the conversation and how to ask for an answer yourself.
InterviewStorm turns speech into text and then looks for questions in that text.
How it works
- The app listens and writes down what is said. This is the live transcript. You see it in the “Transcription” panel. You can hide this panel.
- The AI reads the last part of the transcript.
- It pulls out the question. If the same question was already answered, it skips it.
- It writes a suggested answer. The answer appears word by word.
Answers can include code in code blocks and simple diagrams. You can open a diagram full screen.
Ask for an answer yourself
- Click “Assist” to answer right now. In the desktop app, press Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or Cmd+Enter (Mac).
- Type a question in the box “Ask about your interview…” and click “Assist”.
If the app finds nothing, it says: “No question was found to answer. Type the question in the box, then press Assist.”
Start a new topic
Click “New Question” when the interviewer changes topic. It clears the earlier context (what the AI remembers from before). Shortcut: Ctrl+G or Cmd+G.
Settings you can change
- “Auto-answer questions”: on by default. When it is off, the app only answers when you click “Assist”.
- “Question Detection”: how easily the app treats speech as a question. Low, Medium, or High. High is the default.
- “Conversation Memory”: how much of the recent talk the AI reads. 30 seconds (default), 1, 2, or 3 minutes. Longer memory can make replies slower.
- “Think”: uses a slower AI that reasons more before it answers. Off by default.
Which AI is used
The app chooses the AI models for you. If one does not work, it moves to another one by itself. Free and paid plans use the same models.
Tips
- Use Medium or Low detection if small talk gets answered.
- Use a longer memory for long, multi-part questions.
- If answers stop, see Transcription stopped or answers failed.
