Help Center / During an interview

Capture a coding question with a screenshot or photo and get a suggested solution.

Coding questions are often written, not spoken. InterviewStorm can read them from a screenshot (a picture of your screen).

In the desktop app

  1. Make sure the coding question is fully visible on your screen.
  2. Click “Screenshot”, or press Ctrl+H (Windows) or Cmd+H (Mac).
  3. The screenshot goes into a tray (a small row of pictures). Nothing is sent yet.
  4. If the question is long, scroll and take more screenshots.
  5. Click “Assist”, or press Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter.
  6. The app sends the screenshots and shows a suggested solution with code.

To remove the newest screenshot, press Ctrl+D or Cmd+D.

On macOS, screenshots need the Screen Recording permission. See Screenshots do not work.

In the web app

  1. Click “Screenshot”.
  2. A “Screen Capture” dialog asks for screen sharing permission. Allow it.
  3. Take your screenshots, then click “Assist”.

On a phone

Phones use the camera. Tap the camera button and take a photo of the question.

Limits

  • Up to 10 screenshots at a time.
  • The app warns you at 5.
  • Many screenshots can make the answer slower.

If the answer does not come

The app may say: “No complete question was found in the screenshot. Capture the whole question, or type it in the box, then press Assist.”

Do one of these:

  • Take a new screenshot that shows the whole question.
  • Type the question in the box “Ask about your interview…” and click “Assist”.

Good to know

Screenshots you capture are uploaded to secure storage so the AI can read them. See What InterviewStorm stores and what it does not.

Click “New Question” before a new problem. This clears the earlier context (what the AI remembers from the last question).

Follow each employer’s interview rules. Do not use InterviewStorm in proctored tests, exams, or anywhere AI help is not allowed.
