Screenshots do not work

Fix InterviewStorm screenshots that fail, come out blank, or do not give an answer.

Screenshots let the AI read a written question, like a coding problem. Find your problem below.

Desktop app on macOS: no permission

macOS needs the Screen Recording permission for screenshots.

1. Open System Settings.
2. Go to Privacy & Security, then Screen Recording.
3. Turn on InterviewStorm.
4. Restart the app.

Web app: no permission

The web app needs screen sharing permission to take screenshots.

1. Click “Screenshot”.
2. A “Screen Capture” dialog appears. Allow it.
3. Choose the screen that shows the question.

If you said no before, click “Screenshot” again and allow it this time.

Phone

Phones do not take screenshots of your computer. Use the camera button to take a photo of the question. Or use the two-device setup, where the phone asks the computer to take the screenshot. See Use your phone as a second screen for answers.

”No complete question was found in the screenshot”

The app could not see the whole question.

• Take a new screenshot that shows the full question.
• For long questions, scroll and take more than one screenshot.
• Or type the question in the box, then click “Assist”.

You took a screenshot but no answer came

Screenshots wait in the tray (a small row of pictures). Nothing is sent until you click “Assist”. Click “Assist”, or press Ctrl/Cmd+Enter in the desktop app.

Too many screenshots

• You can keep up to 10 at a time. The app warns you at 5.
• Remove the newest one with Ctrl/Cmd+D.
• Many screenshots can make answers slower.

Two-device setup problems

• “Session Unresponsive”: close it and start a new session from the computer.
• “Still loading”: wait a moment and check both devices are online.
