Choose between the web app, the desktop app, and the phone app for your kind of interview.
InterviewStorm comes in three forms. They use the same account. Pick the one that fits your interview.
Quick answer
- Video call where you share your screen: use the desktop app.
- Video call without screen sharing, or practice: use the web app in Chrome or Edge.
- Phone interview: use the phone app, with the call on another device.
Web app
Open app.interviewstorm.com in your browser. It works best in desktop Chrome or Edge.
- It shows the live transcript (the text of what is said), automatic answers, typed questions, and resume-based answers.
- To hear the interviewer, you share your screen or tab and turn on “Share with system audio”. You must do this every time. See Let the app hear the interviewer.
- In Safari and Firefox, the app can only use your microphone. It cannot hear the sound from your computer directly.
- The web app does not have Screen Share Privacy or keyboard shortcuts.
Desktop app (Windows and macOS)
- Its answer window stays on your own display, like speaker notes in a presentation. It is not part of the screen you share. See How Screen Share Privacy works.
- It hears device audio (the sound coming out of your computer, like the interviewer’s voice) by itself on Windows.
- On macOS, hearing the call needs macOS 13 or later and the Screen Recording permission.
- It has keyboard shortcuts and a window that floats above other apps.
Get it from the download page.
Phone app (iPhone and Android)
- Needs iOS 15 or later, or Android 8 or later.
- It uses the microphone only.
- It has a camera button to take a photo of a question.
- Transcription stops when the app is in the background (not on screen).
- Its main use is as a second screen for answers. See Use your phone as a second screen for answers.
Can I switch later?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any version. Your resume, settings, and plan come with you.
